I see many taennie stans claming that they met back in 2014 when jennie attended inkigayo with GD to promote Black and they've been friends /dating since then. When BP debuted, V supported them and they were seen talking to eo with jennie wearing his jacket at the backstage of an award show. And Kai x jennie was a mediaplay to promote them as soloists. I obviously didn't believe it but apparently that twoozoobrother (the one who allegedly leaked the pictures) has been friends with V since 2014 and there's a photo of them posted by V on official bts twt.

Jennie definitely had idol friends before she debuted. She was hanging out with JB from Got7, I can't remember who else. She had celeb status as a trainee.
And Blackpink and BTS were speaking in Blackpink's debut year. There used to be a short clip of Jungkook speaking with Jisoo and Lisa at the side of the stage at an awards show end of 2016. But the fansite got pissy at Liskook shippers and deleted. The clip of Jungkook laughing at Lisa's speech only survived because a Blackpink fansite copied it. And J-Hope and Rosie were seen chatting while leaving stage in 2018. That footage is still up on YouTube.
I don't believe that early V would have been Jennie's type. But maybe she started to see him that way after his glow up.
