NK has it's own challenges because of malnutrition and regime
if they will have some normal president I'm sure there will be population boom
because they are coming from the lowest lows, so multiple positive changes and quality of life improvement would be like a blessing for North Koreans
something which for us is a norm

Nothing.. Japan survived and only recently formally accepted foreign workforce allowing them to renew their visas indefinitely, they would be fine..
South korea has a lower birthrate than japan has ever had and is just as xenophobic if not more, combined with a older population that is poorer and less safety nets overall, id say south koreas future is much bleaker than japan as it currently stands.
