RULES IN DETAIL
NOTE: if breaking a certain rule is eligible for immediate permaban, it will be noted, otherwise you will be issued warning points.
1. No active alts
[IMMEDIATE PERMABAN] Unless you are aware of anyone else sharing your IP address and inform us.
2a. Appropriate sections
Post threads in section relevant to the topic. If unsure where your thread belongs, ask a staff member.
2b. Duplicate posts
Duplicate threads will be deleted or altered. Use the search bar or tag function before making a thread.
2c. Appropriate titles
Titles of threads must clearly describe the content of the post. False clickbait or misleading titles will result in an alteration/deletion of the thread.
2d. Unproven claims
When making a concrete claim, please provide sources of reliable nature. Without a verifiable source, the thread may be deleted, altered or moved to the gossip section.
3a. On topic replies only
Replies to the thread must stay on topic. Derailing or off-topic replies will be removed.
3b. Mass tagging
Please only mass tag users who have given permission to be tagged for that topic. If you don't have permission from users to do so, then mass tagging is also against the rules.
3c. Over-the-line behavior
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY
Triggering is admittedly a grey area and not meant to curtail forum discussion. However certain types of triggering go overboard.
- Highly inflammatory insults such as racially motivated or derogatory/degrading insults and insinuations cannot be tolerated.
- Common language insults, such a "stupid" or "idiot" used in the spirit of furthering debate are allowed, but along with highly inflammatory insults, non-constructive targeted criticism is not allowed.
- Accusations/insinuations meant to maliciously expose forum users are likewise prohibited and subject to deletion.
Punishment by severity
- Personally triggering with call-outs and insults
- Hate speech and any type of discriminatory -ism
[IMMEDIATE PERMABAN]
- Explicit/positive advertising of competing sites
- Malicious 'expose' type threads
- Doxxing, porn, other graphic or lewd imagery
- Spam
4a. Report first
This is more orderly than tagging a mod and makes better use of our system to facilitate correct action.
4b. False reports
This does not extend to most reports. Questioning whether something is against the rules is perfectly fine. Some users use this excessively while knowing the rules are not being broken. This obvious false reporting bogs down our system for real reports.
DEAD THREAD WARNING
If a thread gets out of hand, a moderator may choose to issue a Dead Thread Warning. Any thread under a Dead Thread Warning will be locked and require users to vote for the thread to re-open or remain locked. Users will have 10 minutes to vote.
THE WARNING SYSTEM
Our warning system is based around categories from our rules.
These are:
- Change required (section or title)
- False report
- Post/Thread violation (derailing, crass language, personal insults)
- Alternate account
- Abusive behavior (harassment, hate speech, defamation, threats)
There are two levels of response that can be incurred:
- Verbal Warning
- Warning Point
Verbal Warnings are meant to make the user aware of the issue and warn them going forward to be mindful so that they do not incur an actual Warning Point. These do not actually count in the punishment system.
Warning Points are given when the violation is severe enough and do count towards bans given in the punishment system.
Categories can be classified into MINOR and MAJOR. Minor violations may give you only Verbal Warnings depending on severity and amount of times you have been warned per category before. Major violations may incur an immediate Warning Point instead.
MINOR VIOLATIONS
- Change required
- False report
- Post infraction
MAJOR VIOLATIONS
- Alternate account
- Abusive behavior
Point Consequences
3 Warning Points = Signature Removal
4 Warning Points = Signature + Avatar Removal
5 Warning Points = 2 Week Ban
6 Warning Points = Permaban
Warning Points expire after 90 Days
