Le Sserafim had a lot of hype and 2 Iz*one members but they failed to pull the numbers NJ did. Do u think Garam's controversy made them lose a lot of that hype and left people uncomfortable with following the group? Are they, as some people say not "fresh" enough? Did they need more new faces? Younger group members? Is something lacking in the group?

Hybe fans probably saw them as "tainted" by Izone/CJ. LSRFM stans weremostly Wizones and Ssamkura solo stans in the beginning.
Still, Fearless did pretty damn well in a crowded chart, peaking at 9 on Melon Daily and 258k UL. For rookie debut with a giant scandal, that's impressive.
Now with Kazuha and Yunjin growing their own fanbases, the next comeback could be epic.

I like Le Sserafim a bit, but don't stan. They look pretty and I liked Fearless a lot. Chaewon is so pretty to me! Plus, I'm happy that two of the Iz*One members got to stick together too.
As for New Jeans, they are pretty, but I just don't like their songs. Not any of them. I know a lot of people do and I'm glad the songs were released and made (except for Cookie, too creepy for me) since I know so many people like them, they just aren't to my taste AT ALL. I listened to them and found them a bit too underwhelming or boring or slow or something or other with them. Happy for the girls and that they got to debut though. I just wish they had better songs.

Pretty weird tbh. Especially for Chaewon who has been in the industry for only 2 years and she's technically just starting out despite going from Iz*One to Le Sserafim. And it's true, those UL u see now in at least top 5 on melon but back then they only managed to peak on 8-9 (not sure).
We'll see on their comeback i guess! Should be soon.

They have the fastest 2022 rookie song to reach 100M views. They have the most streamed GG per day after love dive. In japan they smashed. LSRF debut was a success but since NJ people act they flopped.

LSF entered Spotify 200 and had higher YT views but NewJeans didn’t. I feel it is due to the release format and the lack of playlisting.

No. If you go on dcinside Gaon and match the chart sheets with the time the document was leaked, Fearless ULs starting from rising from the double digits to the thousands. It was a much higher gain than the 5 man stages achieved and much higher than Garam’s removals. When the Garam scandal reached the 9am news, the ULs increased even more the next hour.
