It doesn't makes sense to me it would be understandable if BTS or the members were like often featuring in Drake's own songs or Dua Lipa's but they're not and BTS the ones asking singers to feature in their songs
Until recently, Asians were considered too lame, uncool, and unworthy for mainstream media. Aside from maybe Native Americans, we were the only minority that the media, entertainment, and even politics shamelessly dismissed as if we didn't exist.
Western artists would have no problem making racial slurs about us, calling us the C-word and the G-word, and making politically incorrect references to the shape of our eyes. Some even encouraged targeting us and glorified the process. They fetishized our women as being submissive commodities.
Then came BTS, K-dramas, Korean beauty industry, Parasite, Squid Game, and Itaewon Class. That changed everything, making it clear to these mainstream artists that the stuff they used to say and do won't fly anymore if they want that BTS money because Armys of all ethnicities, races, and colors will speak up about it.
You can't blame people for being skeptical about western artists' intentions, especially when it's widely known they wouldn't have thought about associating with an Asian act years ago. BTS built themselves from the ground up and established their diverse fanbase from scratch, and there is not a thing these racist executives and artists in western companies can do about it except chase some of that clout.
