YG just loves to lie.

A lot of people will argue that YG has a bias to male artists over female artists. And to a certain extent, I will not argue that. The rate of them debuting Male artists vs Female artists is proof enough of that.

But a thing I don't think fans of YG groups do not realize they ALL have in common is that YG will lie to your face.

AND NO, IT'S NOT JUST YOUR GROUP. IT'S ALL OF THEM

I'm going to keep this succinct, so I will not be talking about every YG group going all the way back to Jinusean. I'm just going to keep this to who is currently active.

    1. BigBang

    • MADE(2015) - YG promised that the MADE album would release with the final E singles in August of 2015. MADE would then go on to drop over a year later in December 2016 with only 3 extra songs

    2. Winner

    • EXIT - YG promised that there would be four releases making up EXIT through the year of 2016. Fans only ever got EXIT: E
    • Mino's debut album was made known in March of 2018and then did not show up until November.

    3. AKMU

    • Chanhyuk had produced enough music for YG to release a solo album for his sister. Suhyun during his military enlistment. We've yet to see that album.

    4. BlackPink

    • YG promised that BP would have 8 MVs in their debut year. They got halfway there.
    • YG promised that each BP member would have a solo leading into their next album following Jennie's. We did not see Rose and Lisa's solos until 2021 (3 years later)

    5. Lee Hi

    • In August 2017, lee hi was crying about not getting to release music. That same month YG promised that Lee Hi would be releasing an album that year. An EP did not appear until 2019

    6. Treasure

    • Was supposed to debut as two separate groups known as Treasure and Magnum and to come together occasionally as Treasure13. That was completely scrapped.
    • Group was promised to promote immediately after their survival show. They did not debut until a year and a half later in August 2020

    Other miscellaneous points

    • Teddy is not slow at producing music. Several times it's been revealed that he's made music YEARS in advanced that just doesn't get released. The most obvious examples being Lee Hi's Scarecrow and BP's AIIYL
    • Anda (a former artist under YG) was promised a solo album in 2019, that album has never materialized
    • Pinkpunk was to debut in 2012
    • Future 2ne1 was to debut in 2018

So always remember, when it comes to YG

  • The bgs lies were reasonable though, BB was in an extensive tour in 2015/2016, Winner lost a member and so does Treasure. Now none of the female acts had a controversy or happened to lost digital power yet they were put in hiatus anyway, mmm misoginy? nah, all them suffer, but the unreasonable ones happens to be the only females

    None of them are reasonable

both the winner and the treasure member withdrawals followed an entire year. They had a whole year to drop all those things they promised, that they did nothing with.

And BigBang touring is no excuse, cause they had no problem dropping all the singles in the middle of it.

Not really, winner and ikon had HUGE debut and then boom nothing. They were put on hiataus. No music only performances here and there.

losing one member makes the whole production to be putted in stand by, though. Members need to re distribution the lines, re learn choreos, re create concept, overcome the feelings of losing a member, its not as simple as having to move on into the next comeback 6 months after, specially in Treasure case when the company was hitted with the BS scandal and they decided to hold them back until gp stopped the boycott. For Winner they went sent to JPN, isn't it? so on top of losing a member, re distribuition, re learning choreo, re recording they had to prepare a jpn debut, seems fair enough to have a year hiatus. BB also was in a contract renewal during 2015, so that on top of touring, it could have been more than enough for yg to let them "breath".

Now was there any reasonable excuses for female artists? cause aside of Bom hate, nothing really

Not really, for examole stray kids lost their member and were ready for cb soon. It's just YG being lazy af.

And it's not like Winner choreography are ever hard???

Also no one is saying there is reasonable excuse for female artists? Point is YG doesn't have reasonable excuse for any of long break their artists take.

Again, you continue to freely ignore the whole "A year" between the members departure and the announcement of what they were going to do.

So the whole rerecording and redistribution rings hollow cause those members didn't leae a day or a week or a month after the announcement. They left almost year in. Hell, let's give some leeway and say they were going to leave 3 months before they actually did.

THAT'S 9 MONTHS OF NOTHING EACH

stray kids lost a member in december of 2019, and they came back in june of 2020 though. That still 6 months into it. And yes, no choreo or sht, but they still needed to do a Japan debut.

YG is incompetent, but its clear that it is way more incompetent when it comes to females than their loved boys

Woojin left in October actually (cb was scheduled for November) it got postponed and they dropped song in November (astronaut) together with ep Clé: Levanter in December if I remember correctly :/

As I said, no one is excusing their inconvenience for gg, just saying it goes both ways. :pepe-shrug:

if it was scheduled for november, jyp just had to go through it

  • If it was YG it would have been cancelled or delayed for few years probably

if it was yg and gg, then it is over for the gg without even knowledge in advance. But if it was a bg, yg would love to give content and content to a bg while let them prepare for another cmb and a great career 8)
