Discuss. They could have easily be preparing for a comeback and Japanese debut.
Do you think it was a waste? Or will they be benefitted long term?

So far it looks like a waste of time
wasted
I don't follow any GG's so i haven't been watching but i was coming here to say that it feels like a similar situation when TO1's company threw TO1 on road to kingdom with like 1 song and just having debuted, it felt like such a poor thing to do to them.
but on one hand the positives are, it gave them some exposure, they gained some fans, as well as some experience, and introduced their group to audiences.
I was wondering if that would be the same case with Kep1er here? Maybe they aren't doing well but it's giving them some more exposure? Probably not the best way to go about it, i assume?
I don’t think they gained much from the show the way oh my girl or gidle did from the first season so in that sense it was definitely a waste of time and money
yep

Kep1er debut was a success imo. The only metric they did bad was Korean charting.
Everyone knows it was a waste but their company is moving like a nugu company and has been doing a bad job since their debut.
People thought they would be mnet’s favorites but most of the time they’re last, and don’t even have the most viewed performances.
All the money wasted for nothing.

i didn't mean they weren't successful i meant, is their company putting them on this show for further exposure than what they have had, and also as an opportunity to learn and grow more and maybe test their compatibility as a group as well as experiment with different ideas, or is it just completely not going well on the show?
and don’t even have the most viewed performances.
That's bad in a sense because they easily have the biggest international fandom. But this could come down to the fact that the other groups are doing better performances. Not surprising as kep1er debuted few months ago.

Maybe that's the reason or they needed a group with some fandom power to fill in a spot no one else was. Maybe long-term it'll benefit but atm it seems like it wasn't the best decision.

aww sorry to hear that, i hope it gets better for them. Hopefully they at least grow and learn more from this for future music, and still gain some more fans. It's probably hard being up there with experienced artists.

Yup hopefully the long-term impact is good.

Is anyone going in this season going to blow up like OMG did after Queendom?

. . . although I'm pretty sure it's pre debut for TO1 . . . but I could be wrong tho

You might be right i couldn't remember i just knew they only had magnolia
it seems to work like a charm for Hikaru and Xiaoting who have very high views of fancams
we also need to remember that Queendom 2 has higher tv ratings than Kingdom and you don't have any group from big4 here, also around the world tv ratings are going down even if we check them year to year so if in this case those ratings are higher it means that people are attracted to watch Q2
I'm pretty sure that those who 'cameras', or should I say PD likes will get exposure
Kep1er has no choice, their agency is owned by same parent company as MNet,
maybe they were just brought to bring those international fans and make them watch live online episodes
No matter how we look at it, they are just pawns on chessboard with that standard 'produce' short contract length
I'm sure they will be worked to the moment they will be tired as hell, so I expect comeback announcement not long after Q2 final episode

. . . their performance of rising sun tho, actual peak

not only that but all the problems with their company too

Yeah was stupid all that lawsuit crap and companies fighting over managing them
Them being in the show is mistake having a comeback and promoting in veraity shows is way better and the fact that they keep on ranking low proves it even more that they don't need the show and i thought that Mnet would at least promote the girls we didn't get to see on gp999 but no Mnet keeps on pushing the same girls they pushed in gp999 so once again Kep1er is better off with a comeback

TO1 is a nugu group so any form of exposure is good for them which isn't the case with Kep1er
But how popular is Queendom 2 compared to Queendom 1 cuz even Kingdom didn't have the big of an impact on the groups that went there
Tbh I don't know.
But thing is, Kingdom groups are a lot more established than the Queendom groups now so I'm not sure if we can compare. Kingdom literally had ikon BTOB and Stray Kids.
The groups in Queendom 2 now are relatively popular but not top tier, similar to Queendom 1.
Honestly we don't really know until after the show.
The thing is, Kep1er definitely lacks a domestic fandom and GP recognition so this show might be able to give them a boost domestically.
which also begs the question of which group(s) is getting the most from queendom 2 so far?
Display MoreTbh I don't know.

I don't know about but we will see
I do hope hyorin career rises up. She really she is so talented. Not only she a great vocalist but an equally good performer. Gives it her all. Also would love to see wjsn get a boost

But i feel they could have done that without joining queendom too...
I get so mad at Wake One when I am watching Queendom. The budget for Kep1er's performances is barely there and their creative team lacks so much compared to the other groups. If you look at just the chores for the rounds, Kep1er did well, but their staging is really bad. Even for the unit stages, the units with Kep1er in them had terrible utilization for the stage and I think Mnet might be doing it on purpose to prevent the Mnet's daughter allegation. That said, The Boys cover is pretty good so hopefully it works out for them.

the thing is that they don't have a long term, the group already wasted half of year with no comeback, they have 2 years left which are gonna fly in no time.
For example in similar time, izone had a kor debut, jpn debut, were releasing teasers for a kor comeback and announced a jpn second single while Kep1er only has a korean debut and crickets.

Truly wasting time.......
Ngl, Queendom 2 is looking like a waste of time to me.
it might seem like a waste of time but this experience will help them in the future as performers. Keep in mind they don't have much experience performing live or interacting with other groups. Don't get me wrong, I still think another girl group should have gone instead of them but since they are already there, it's better to see the positive side.

Did they want to go tho?

The whole thing 💀?
Yeah, they could've gained a lot more from just having their 1st comeback.
