"Surfin'" was written as a during "SKZ Song Camp", a Youtube series where the members of Stray Kids were divided into three subunits, and wrote, recorded a song together, and came up with a concept for the MV.
With this light, upbeat pop-hip hop hybrid, the trio wanted to provide refreshment in the hot summer to listeners.
