II. Background
Moon Byul announced the release of 6equence on December 6, 2021. The next day, she revealed that there would be two pre-release singles in December before the album's release in January, 2022. The single G999, which featured Mirani, came out on December 13, while Shutdown came out on December 30.
Before the release, the cover image was revealed on December 27, and the MV teaser on the 29. The MV and single came out the next day.
