I. Introduction
Take Over the Moon is the second mini-album (EP) from the permanent NCT sub-unit, WayV. It was released on October 29, 2019 and featured the lead single "Moonwalk."
II. Background & Release
During its debut year, WayV consistently promoted each of its subsequent releases with schedules and teasers immediately after each release. After the release of their first EP Take Off in May, WayV provided the schedule for its next EP Take Over the Moon, including its release date in October. Closer to the launch, SM released teasers leading up to the its release. The EP contains six songs in Mandarin, including the title track "Moonwalk." WayV members are fluent in multiple languages and the group released an English version of "Love Talk" as a digital single a week after the launch of Take Over the Moon, including an accompanying video. The English version was promoted with Take Over the Moon although it is not on the album.
As part of its promotions for the EP, WayV made its first appearance on Korean music shows and award shows, then began a promotional tour of five cities in three countries: China, Korea and Thailand.

Take Over the Moon debuted at #1 in 16 regions on the iTunes chart, then made WayV's debut on the Korean Gaon charts, reaching #5. It also reached #12 on the US Billboard World Album Charts and made WayV's debut on the Billboard Heatseekers Album Charts at #24. It also charted in the UK and France Digital Album Charts. "Moonwalk" reached #23 on the US Billboard World Songs.
