I. Introduction
Forever and Ever is a 2021 Chinese romantic drama (a sequel of One and Only) adapted from the novel One Life, One Incarnation – Beautiful Bones by Mo Bao Fei Bao as part of iQiyi's Sweet On series. It was directed by Shen Yang &, Ben Fang, starring Ren Jia Lun &, Bai Lu as the main cast & more. The process took place in Xi'an which lasted over two months from September 10, 2020 to November 22, 2020. It aired from Mon-Wed 20:00 (2 eps) for VIP with 6 eps released on premiere, Mon-Fri (1 ep) for non-VIP with 2 eps released on premiere.
II. Synopsis
Shi Yi, a top voice actress, and Zhou Shengchen, a chemistry professor, gradually develop a mutual understanding. Hand in hand, they work to preserve traditional craftsmanship and overcome many storms as they decide to accompany each other for the rest of their lives.
The gentle Shi Yi (Bai Lu) remains modest despite being one of the best voice actors in the industry. One day, she runs into the gentlemanly Zhou Shengchen (Ren Jialun) who has returned from overseas. They felt a sense of affinity at first sight and left a deep impression on each other despite a brief encounter. In order to save his family's Yixing clay teapot factory from decline, Zhou Shengchen agrees to his mother's request for him to get engaged and take over the family business. However, he rejects their marriage arrangements and proposes to Shi Yi instead since he liked her from the start.
Shi Yi readily accepts as she already knew in her heart that she wanted to be with Zhou Shengchen. Through their time together, they slowly grow closer. In order to revitalize the clay teapot industry in his hometown, Zhou Shengchen has to go against the elders due to their differences in business philosophies and it puts him in a dilemma of having to choose between familial ties and what's good for business. Fortunately, Shi Yi is always by his side to give him her utmost support and encouragement. They work as a couple to preserve the art of craftsmanship, their feelings growing stronger as they overcome problems together. After rain and storm, their feelings become more profound.
