I. Introduction
Cho Jung-rae is a South Korean film director.
II. Career
Cho has made two feature films: Duresori: The Voice of the East (2012), and the documentary Foulball (also known as Wonders, 2015). He has also directed about 200 commercials, television documentaries, music videos and short films.
Cho's 2015 Spirits' Homecoming tells the story of two Korean girls who are kidnapped by Japanese soldiers and forced to work in a so-called comfort station. After one of the girls dies, the two friends have a spiritual meeting years later with the help of a shaman. He originally planned to release it by August 15, 2015, in time for the 70th anniversary of Japan's surrender in World War II. But the theatrical release had to be delayed because the film had trouble finding a distributor.
