Han Ye Seul

I. Introduction

Han Ye Seul is a Korean actress, singer, and model.

She was born as Leslie Kim, while her Korean name is Kim Ye Seul Yi. Han Ye-seul is known as one of the most beautiful actresses in South Korea along with the other big names like Song Hye-kyo, Jun Ji Hyun, and Kim Tae-hee.

She was born on September 18, 1981, in California. She grew up in Los Angeles with her parents and older brother. She completed her high school at Cerritos High School and also joined Cerritos College with an associate of arts degree in computer graphics.

After Han Ye Seul attained her associate of arts degree in computer graphics from Cerritos College she moved to South Korea to pursue acting and modeling.

Her new path in South Korea started when she began her modeling career as Leslie Kim after winning the SBS Supermodel Contest in 2001. After winning the ‘SBS supermodel,’ she got an opportunity to work with various Tv shows, films, and modeling agencies.

Under the stage name Han Ye Seul, she made her acting debut in the popular sitcom Nonstop 4 in 2003. Han quickly rose to fame, and to continue her acting pursuits in the Korean industry she became a naturalized South Korean citizen and renounced her U.S. citizenship. Han eventually proved her mettle in the field with performances in 'Forbidden Love', 'That Summer's Typhoon', ‘Couple or Trouble’, and ‘Miss Gold Digger’ which brought her both awards and fame.

In an unfortunate incident, she got herself entangled in controversy while shooting for the TV series ‘Spy Myung-wol’ that later forced her into taking a three-year break from acting. She would later make her comeback with a solid performance in the TV series ‘Birth of a Beauty' that won her several awards. This was followed by other notable TV series ‘Madame Antoine’ and ‘20th Century Boy and Girl’.

Not only is Han Ye Seul able to act and pose in front of the camera, but she can also sing.

She has showcased her singing skills, such as for the original soundtrack of dramas she starred in and by being a featured artist.
