Lee Jong-suk

  • I. Introduction

    Lee Jong-suk (born 14 September 1989) is a South Korean actor and model. He began his career as the latter first in 2005, being the youngest male model in the Seoul Collection program at Seoul Fashion Week.

    As an actor, Jong-suk's first role was in the TV series Prosecutor Princess and his cinema debut was in the horror movie Ghost. Soon after, Lee played a supporting role in the hit drama Secret Garden and then appeared in the sitcom High Kick Season 3. His breakout role came in 2012 when he starred in School 2013, which led to Jong-suk receiving his first acting award.

    After the success of School 2013, Lee starred in various major roles that earned him both critical and commercial success. He's most known for his characters in I Can Hear Your Voice (2013), Doctor Stranger (2014), Pinocchio (2014), W (2016), While You Were Sleeping (2017), The Hymn of Death (2018) and Romance Is a Bonus Book (2019).

    - Lee is best friends with fellow model-actor and School 2013 co-star Kim Woo-bin, whom he has known since their modeling days.

    - He is the owner of the dining cafe, 89Mansion

    - Lee began his mandatory military service on 8 March 2019. Lee was deemed unfit to enlist as an active duty soldier as a result of going through a car accident when he was 16 and tore his anterior cruciate ligament. Therefore, he was confirmed to work as a public service officer, and was expected to be discharged on 31 December 2020. He was finally discharged on 2 January 2021.
