Pre-debut:
Member Sekai Yamaoto and Taiki Sato joined EXILE TRIBE's boygroup EXILE in 2014 as dancer and got selected to also join FANTASTICS in 2016.
On January 31st, 2017 the groups's name as well the formation of 5 dancer and 2 vocalists got announced on the TBS-Show "Weekly EXILE" announcing Sekai and Taiki as the group's leader. The next announced member were Leiya Seguchi, Natsuki Sawamoto, Natsuki Hori, Kaito Kimura and Shota Nakao. All 5 new member used to be trainees under LDH's dance academy called "EXPG" (EXILE PROFESSIONAL GYM) before.
From Februry 13 to April 16 the member of FANTASTICS begun their activies as a group wich got shown on Weekly EXILE.
On May 15th, 2017 an audition for the vocalist position got held. The final vocalists Yusei Yagi and Sota Nakamura got announced on December 20th, 2017 trought Weekly EXILE.
On March 3rd, 2018 Shota Nakao announced that he would be suspending from group activities after stomach cancer was diagnosed to get treatment. On July 8th it was announced that Shota had died on cancer on the 6th of July, 2018. On July 14th, 2018 it was announced during Dance Earth Festival on the groups first official stage that the planed new boygroup of LDH would still be 9 member, even tho one of them isn't there anyore. Shortly after the event LDH announced a memorial event for Shota's fans. The event was held on the 25th and 26th of August, 2018 were fans brought letters and pictures to share memories they had of him.
On September 15th, 2018 the official debut date of the group aswell as the debut single "Over drive" were announced.
Debut and after:
On April 3rd, 2019 the group released their 2nd single called "Flying Fish". After finishing promotions for their second release LDH's multimedia project "Battle of Tokyo", which includes all Jr.Exile groups, started in June. During this month those 4 groups released collaboration singles every week, until they released a full album titled as "Battle Of Tokyo 〜Enter The Jr.Exile〜" on July 3rd, 2019. Accompanying the album's release the groups held a row of live performances from July 4th to 7th with the same name. Since those dates included the first anniversary of Shota's death, a memorial for him was built at the concert venue. On July 6th the groups also performed "Turn Back Time" together in honor of Shota.
On August 9th, the group announced they will hold their first national hall tour combining "Sound" and "Drama" titled "Fantastics Sound Drama 2019 Fantastic Nine" beginning on October 11th and ending on November 21st, 2019.
On August 21st,2019 the group released their 3rd single called "Dear Destiny", which is their first ballad as a title track.
On October 9th, it was announced that they would release their 4th single called "Time Camera" on December 4th, 2019.
On November 21st, the last day of their first tour, it was announced that Fantastics would release their first full album titled FANTASTIC 9 on February 12th, 2020 and their first photobook in spring of 2020. Additionally it was revealed that the group would go on their second tour and first arena tour titled Fantastics LiveTour 2020 "FNT" in 2020 too.
On December 8th, 2019 it was revealed that Fantastics and The Rampage would be in charge of the special movie theme songs for the 40th anniversary project of Mobile Suit Gundam titled Gundam × Ken Okuyama Design × LDH Japan “G40 Project”. Fantastics' theme song "To The Sky" and The Rampage's theme song "Show You The Way" would both reflect the story of Mobile Suit Gundam from two different aspects. The full special movie project was released on Gundam's official YouTube channel on January 1st, 2020.
Shortly after the release of their first full album FANTASTIC 9 on February 12th , 2020 it was announced that the group would release their 5th single called "Hey,darlin’" on April 1st. Fantastics's second tour Fantastics Live Tour 2020 "FNT" was scheduled from March 28th to July 19th, but due to COVID-19 pandemic, all performances were cancelled.
On July 25th, 2020 Fantastics announced their 6th single "Winding Road -mirai e-" to be released on September 23rd. Shortly after the release, the group announced their upcoming 7th single titled "High Fever" which would serve as the theme song of the group's first leading TV drama "Mannequin Night Fever". The single got released on November 11th, 2020.
