I. Introduction
Reality in Black is the second studio album by Mamamoo. It was released on November 14, 2019.
Musically, the album has R&B, dance, and hip hop influences. It features eleven songs including the lead single “Hip” and their Queendom finale song “Destiny”.
II. Charting
Reality in Black debuted atop the Gaon Album Chart in South Korea, becoming Mamamoo’s third number-one album in their home country. It also peaked at number 11 on the Billboard World Albums chart in the United States, with 1000 copies sold.
The album also became their most best-selling to date, with 102, 171 copies sold in November 2019 and over 120,000 sold as of October 2020. The Japanese edition of the album peaked at number 27 on the Oricon Albums Chart in Japan.
The lead single “Hip” also received four music show wins.
