I. Introduction
Super One is the first full-length album from the Kpop supergroup, SuperM. It was released on September 25, 2020 with multiple singles, including the lead single "One (Monster & Infinity).
II. Background and Overview
SuperM is a supergroup that combines members from four popular SM Entertainment groups: Taemin from Shinee, Baekhyun and Kai from EXO, Taeyong from NCT 127, Mark from NCT 127 and Dream and Lucas and Ten from WayV, an NCT sub-unit.
Several songs from the album were pre-released as the COVID-19 pandemic restricted promotional opportunities and changed planned tours. SuperM performed "Dangerous Woman" during their concert tour in the United States and Europe, which wrapped up in February 2020, as well as on the popular late night talk show The Jimmy Kimmel Show. They also performed another song "With You" during the Global Citizen event One World: Together at Home, an online concert during the pandemic, in April 2020. Additionally, they performed several of the songs as part of their Beyond Live online concert, becoming the first group from SM to hold a live online concert.
SuperM released its first single "100" on August 14, performing it a week later during their U.S. morning television debut on "Good Morning America." A second single "Tiger Inside" on Sept. 1. The group launched the lead track "One (Monster & Infinity)" with the album release on Sept. 25, 2020.
The album was released in five versions: two group and three "unit" versions featuring multiple members. Unit A featured Taemin and Taeyong, Unit B featured Baekhyun, Mark and Lucas, and Unit C featured Kai and Ten. It features 15 songs in English and Korean. The Asia version was released on October 26, 2020.
The group participated in promotions in Korea and the U.S. in support of the album, although U.S. promotions were recorded in Korea due to the travel limitations of the pandemic. In addition to their own limited show, Korean TV and American TV performances, songs from the album were featured in online concerts and events throughout the year. The group also performed the song "Better Days" during The Big Event, an online advocacy event for mental health organized by the World Health Organization on October 10, 2020.

The album debuted at the top of the Gaon Albums Chart in Korea and went on to be certified 2x Platinum by the KMCA. It also debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, becoming the group's second top two entry, as well as debuting at #1 on the Independent Albums and World Albums charts. It also debuted at #1 on 5 major charts on Line Music and #6 on the Oricon chart in Japan. It also charted in the top 30 in Austria, Germany, Hungary, Switzerland and the U.K., and charted in another 8 countries.
Additionally, Time called it one of the albums that defined Kpop for the year while Dazed, Paper and Metro named Tiger Inside one of the best kpop songs of the year, Buzzfeed named "One (Monster & Infinity)" and MTV named "Wish You Were Here."
Three of the album's singles ("100," "Tiger Inside" and "One (Monster & Infinity)" reached #7 on the U.S. World Songs, as well as charting in Japan Hot 100. "Tiger Inside" became SuperM's first single to chart on the Gaon Digital Chart.
