I. Introduction
TREE is the seventh Japanese full album for South Korean boy group TVXQ, known in Japan as Tohoshinki. It was released on March 5, 2014.
Background & ReleaseIt had four physical versions with a seasonal theme cover - Version A (Spring/Summer), a CD + DVD version with music videos and behind-the-scenes content; Version B (Autumn), CD + DVD with off shot movies; Version C (Winter), CD-only version with two bonus tracks; and Version D: a fan club limited edition.
The album featured five pre-release singles: "Ocean," released on June 12, 2013, "Scream" on September 4, 2013, "Very Merry Xmas" on November 27, 2013, "Tree of Life" on February 4, 2014 and "Hide & Seek/Something" on February 5.

V. Reception
The album became Tohoshinki's 3rd consecutive album to debut at #1 on the Japanese Oricon Album Charts. The album made Tohoshinki the first foreign group in Japan to have three consecutive studio albums with first week sales over 200,000 copies, breaking a 13-year-old record. It also debuted at the top of the Billboard Japan Top Albums chart. The album earned a platinum certification by the Recording Industry of Japan (RIAJ) less than a month after release. The album also charted in the top 15 in the Korean Gaon Album Charts and Taiwanese charts. Four of the album's singles debuted at #2 on the Oricon Singles Chart and achieved gold certifications: "Ocean," "Scream," "Very Merry Xmas" and "Hide & Seek/Something."
