WHO IS RM?

LEADER / RAPPER / SONGWRITER / COMPOSER / PRODUCER

I. LEADER

He was the first member to enter the company in 2010, and has since taken the position of leader in BTS.
As a leader, RM is diplomatic, charismatic, intelligent, mature, patient and encouraging.
He has an IQ of 148 and thus, is considered a genius.
He learned to speak English on his own watching the show 'Friends'.
Whenever BTS travels overseas, he becomes the group's translator
As a leader, he gives every member a chance to express their thoughts.
RM is a team player.
During a prank played on him, he was asked by CEO Bang Si Hyuk to choose between BTS or a solo career while the rest of the members secretly listened in on the conversation.
He did not hesitate to choose BTS.
RM is also usually seen giving eloquent speeches on behalf of the group.

II. RAPPER

He fell in love with rap at the age of 11.
RM began sharing his self-composed recording for the first time on hip hop forums such as Jungle Radio, and the Hiphopplaya boards from time to time.
RM was active in the underground Korean hip-hop scene and performed at concerts in rap groups (Black Pirates & DNH) under the name Runch Randa
He released a number of tracks and collaborations with other underground rappers.
RM had a song written by another rapper to praise him for his lyricism and skill at his young age.

III. SONGWRITER & COMPOSER

Before he started writing lyrics, he was interested in poetry and would often received awards in school.
He stated that his poetry had become lyrics when combined with music.
After joining the company, the first song he has been credited on was 2AM's 'Love U Hate U' in 2010
The Korea Music Copyright Association (KMCA) attributes over 171 songs to RM as a songwriter and composer.
